THE KAURA-NAMODA FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC MANAGEMENT UNDER A UNIFIED STRUCTURE HAS BROUGHT ABOUT SIGNIFICANT CHANGE – DR. AKOS N. IBRAHIM
The acting Director Academic Planning Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda, Dr. Akos Noel Ibrahim says the institution under the present administration of Alhaji Sunusi Umar Kofar Sauri, has achieved significant progress, after finding the school completely affected by Academic set-back.
He said the present administration has succeeded in Accrediting courses in the institution that were run unaccredited.
He said the present management under a unified structure has brought about significant change both administratively and academically.
He said the emergence of the present administration, was as a result of vote of no-confidence on the former administration of the institution.
He said as a result of the collapse of some courses accreditation, the present management work seriously despite lean resources accredit many programmes run by the institution.
He commended the stage fastness of the NBTE for approving almost all the courses presented by the institution for accreditation, only the few programmes yet to be accredited, “the authority is working seriously towards the accreditation of those courses”.
” Another area the institution is working-in engaging consultants that will rebrand the entire academic and administration of the institution brought strategic planning, i.e workshops etc.
He called on the government to provide the institution with power supply, because lack of power is seriously affecting the institution.
Also speaking, BLDR. Kabiru Mohammed Gusau, Acting Dean Student Affairs says students that were nor cleared for NYSC, were eventually cleared because of the institution hard working on the issue, the same students now have the privilege to participate in the NYSC programme.
He said significant achievements have been recorded under the present administration few among them are upgrading of the hostels common rooms, replacement of beds and mattresses which is on the process and adequate water supply for students domestic activities, and “soon the girls hostel will be fence”.
On the security situation of the institution, the Dean students affairs re-state the commitment of the school authority in providing adequate security in and outside the institution.
He commend the support of the police, Hisbah commission and land Lords harbouring students for their understand which brought about a designed form secured all students.
