The good leadership style of the vice chancellor of kano university of science and technology, wudil, Professor Shehu Alhaji Musa, has been the secret behind outstanding transformation witnessed during the period under review.
Indeed the university is so Lucky to have Professor Shehu Musa at the helm of it’s affairs that culminated into the wonderful achievements recorded.
Several changes were made as per the administrative structure of the university.
Since assumption of office, the Vic chancellor has exhibited the habit of running an open door policy with a view to accommodating divergent views/ideas.
For instance, the vice chancellor respects ideas, suggestions and advice from all strata of staff in the university.
Intact, all staff, the unions and even students have easy access to the vice chancellor.
At times, he even stops and listen or discussed With a staff while strolling on the campus.
As a result, the Vice chancellor was able to have vast knowledge and conversant with the situations and happenings in the university.
This had helped greatly in taking proactive measures to address many problems.
The institution under the able leadership of Professor Shehu Musa, established new directorates/centres/institutes, such as KUSTCIL UNIVERSITY FARM, KUSTDARC, IC&IE, CERECC etc.
Also, enhancement of linkages and collaborations with institution, agencies and organizations within and outside the country.
The establishment of hospitality and tourism institute.
Remedial studies and IJMB programmes at the former daula hotel, kano.
Initiated and facilitated the signing of memorandum of understand (MoU) with the national institute of tourism (NIHOTOUR) in the area’s of hospitality and tourism management, (the institute will serve as a national training centre).
Initiated and facilitated the signing of MoU with Inpur super computing (Chinese Academy of Science), L&Z farm for the benefit of the directorate of university farm and several others.
