Students of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai have won different categories of laurels at the just concluded 21st zonal conference of National Association of Mathematical Science Students of Nigeria,(NAMSSN) which took place at the Federal University of Technology , Minna.

The Students of Mathematical Science participated in both academic and non-academic activities and won in quiz competition, football and 400m relay. The Department also won the Miss NAMSSN beauty pageant and the most active chapter award.

Presenting the winners to the Vice Chancellor in his office, the Head of Department of Mathematical Science, Dr. Abubakar Abdukadir disclosed that though in quiz competition, the University clinched the third position, it won a gold medal in 400m relay and a trophy in football, being the champion.

In another development, a 400 level student of the Department, Atoloye Habeeb won a bronze medal for the University at the just concluded 11th National Mathematics Competition for University Students, (NAMCUS) which took place at the National Mathematical Centre, Abuja.

The Head of Department of Mathematics thanked the University Management for the opportunity given to the department to participate actively at the events, adding that they would do better next time.
