One of the significant achievement of the military in Nigeria against the fight of insurgency, is the military tactics introduced by General Tukur Burutai that created a division within the ranks of Boko Haram.

This statement was made by David Otto in an interview with BBC on the brewing infighting battle of supremacy in the ranks of Boko Haram and ISWAP.
Mr. Otto is an international counter terrorists expert, based in the United Kingdom.
He said, one of the ways that divided the leadership is the abduction of Dapchi girls which divided the leadership on the steps to deal with the situation.

He said the success followed the information obtained from those repentant Boko Haram, who gave useful information to the authority after interrogation.
He said despite the change of Boko Haram leadership, the military has the chance of winning the war, especially if they continue to have support from the public.
Speaking on the new leader Abba Gana who was perceived as bloody in his war, advantageously the nigerian Air force with support from ground army troops, have decisively interrupted the activities of Boko Haram.
He said, undoubtedly, the military is almost finishing and winning the war because of it’s coordinated air and grounds attack.
