The National President , Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria RIFAN), Alhaji Aminu Goronyo, said that rice farming has boost Nigeria’s economy.

He made the statement during an award presentation, which bestowed on him as “ICON OF COMMUNITY SERVICES” by Arewa Media Practitioners in Abuja recently.

The National President says, rice farming has begun to boost the nation’s economy, hence, it is now becoming more formidably robust and transformed, which is expected to translate into more tangible prosperity for the Nigerians.

He further  stated that, Investing in Agriculture is one of the most effective ways of reducing hunger and poverty.

“I believe many Nigerians would want to invest in rice production, with the rapid development, which indeed would help in achieving that self-sufficiency we’re talking about,”

“Rice farming created massive employment, boosted the agriculture sector as well as income among Nigerians”, he pointed out.

The National Chairman of the Arewa Media Practitioners, Comrade Musa Mohammed, while presenting the award to the RIFAN President, said the forum recognized the RIFAN president for his hard working and selfless services over the years and also his outstanding contribution towards boosting agricultural (rice farming), and national development.

” Alhaji Aminu Goronyo has genuinely made appreciable impact in agricultural sector, that’s why the award bestowed on him on other to encourage and boost his moral”, he added.
