DISTRIBUTION OF PALLIATIVES IN KAURAN NAMODA, KAURAN NAMODA LGA OF ZAMFARA STATE ON SUN 5 JUL 20. MAJ GEN NE NJOKU REP THE COAS AT THE EVENT.

The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General  Tukur Buratai in line with the  activities of the 2020 Nigerian Army Day Celebration has on the 5th of July 2020 distributed palliatives to some people in Kaura Namodi town in Zamfara State.

In his opening remarks, the Chief of Army Staff who was represented at the occasion by the Chief of Transformation and Innovation Major  General EN Njoku appreciated the community for supporting  the Nigerian Army especially in the ongoing campaign against bandits, cattle rusterlers and kidnappers in the state.

He said the distribution of palliatives is to cushion the  hardship imposed by the COVID 19 pandemic which has slowed down economic activities across the world.

The Emir of Kaura Namoda Alhaji Sanusi Mohammad Asha  in his welcome address, thanked the COAS for the kind gesture and for choosing the community for the event . He prayed for the  success of the Nigerian Army in the fight against terrorism, kidnapping ans banditry in the state as well as  the repose of soldiers who died in the efforts to end terrorism and other insecurities in Nigeria. The traditional ruler assured the COAS of  continuous support of his community in the ongoing military campaigns in his area of jurisdiction.

Earlier  in his welcome address, the Chief of Civil Military  Affairs Major General HI Bature represented by the Director of Information, Directorate of Civil Military Affairs Brig Gen AA Goni said the distribution is part of NA efforts towards sustenance of excellent  civil military relationship and thanked the COAS for  approving the event.  Amongst those in attendance were the representatives of  Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State and the Special  Adviser Chieftaincy Affairs , Hon Yusuf Zugu , , Brig Gen E Angayie and the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col Sagir Musa among others.

About 500 people benefitted from generosity of the Nigerian Army. Food items that were distributed  included bags of rice, beverages, vegetable oil and over 10 thousand note books for the pupils of the community primary school among others.
