The former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde and the Head of the dissolved Pension investigation team of the EFCC, Rtd CP Muhammadu Wakili aka Singham allegedly return hundreds of millions to the Federal Government.

The development follows several petitions and complains from people within and outside the EFCC to the Justice Ayo Salami led panel of mismanaging and diverting proceeds recovered from cases being investigation by the Commission in recent times.

Nigerians would recalled that a letter was sent to the President by the AGF Abubakar Malami in July 2020 accusing the estwhile EFCC acting Chairman Ibrahim Magu of insurburdination, lack of respect to constitutional authority and relooting of assets recovered from Investigation.

The AGF letter necessitated the setting and inauguration of the Hon Justice Ayo Salami panel to Investigate Magu and any other staffs found guilty on the same offence.

The Ayo Salami have been working since July and later submitted it’s interim report which recommend the dismissal and prosecution of Ibrahim Magu also sought for Presidential approval for more time to continue it’s work.

During the Farida Waziri led EFCC, the office of the Head of service of the Federation Steven Orasanye constituted a task force team to recover Pension funds from people suspected to be stealing and diverting the funds which Abdurashid Maina was made the Head.

In the course of his assignment, Maina sought for the help of EFCC to arrest, investigate and Prosecute people who steal and diverted pension funds but due to interests from some political figure head’s, the Maina task force team was faced with serious challenges which also necessitated the 6th Senate inaugurating a Public hearing on Pension Matters headed by Senator Aloysious Etuk and Kabiru Gaya.

The Senate Public hearing was able to unearthed alot of fraud on both the Maina task force team and the EFCC investigation team under Ibrahim Lamorde and Muhammadu Wakili who was the Head of the dissolved Pension investigation team.

Nigerians will recalled that, Mrs. Farida Waziri was sacked by the Goodluck Jonathan mid way of the Pension investigation and replaced her with Ibrahim Lamorde who was redeployed back to the Commission by President Jonathan as Director of Operations and later elevated him to the Executive Chairman.

Information at different times revealed that Ibrahim Lamorde and the Head of the Pension investigation team have allegedly extorted hundreds of Millions and properties from Pension suspects under investigation as well as from the Head of the Pension task team Mr. Abdurashid Maina.

That both Mr. Steven Orasanye the former Head of Service and Abdurashid Maina, Senators, former IGP’s, Government official have benefited immensely from the Pension funds recovered by the both the Task Force team and the EFCC but under Lamorde and Wakili only Abdurashid Maina, Steven Orasanye and   and few others were made to face the wrath of the law while others go scot free

Rtd CP Muhammadu Wakili Singham was removed from the EFCC when Ibrahim Magu was made the Acting Chairman because there was a signal from the then IGP Ibrahim Idris that those superior to Ibrahim Magu should leave the Commission.

Mr. Wakili was redeployed back to his mother organization and was left in the Force Headquarters without any scheduled due to alot of petitions of alleged Corruption against him until later when he was posted to Katsina State Command as CP and then Kano State State where he conducted the controversial Kano State Gubernatorial election which many Nigerians saw and believed Rtd CP Muhammadu Wakili Singham was honest and Godly not knowing that there’s strong allegations that the deposed Emir of Kano Sunusi Lamido Sunusi and some Kwankwsiyya loyalist have gave him millions of money to stop any move by the Ganduje led Government to rig the election.

CP Singham was seen as a saint which prompted many Nigerians appealling to President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint him to a very strategic position.

Nigerians would recalled that Abdurashid Maina who for long went underground was later arrested, arraigned and jailed for allegedly stealing and diverting Pension funds regained his freedom after the inauguration of the Justice Ayo Salami panel probing Ibrahim Magu for various offences.

Reliable information made available to this paper stated that Maina had approached AGF Malami to allow him make submission of fraud at the Ayo Salami panel when he was granted. My

It was as a result of some of the information given by Maina and some stake holders compelled Ibrahim Lamorde and Rtd CP Wakili Sigham to without further delay returned money and properties which were allegedly extorted from Pension suspects to avoid further embarrassment by the Hon Justice Ayo Salami panel which was given the mandate to invite and Investigate any person found wanting of corruption especially those that serves in the EFCC in recent times
