The former senator who represented Kaduna Central senatorial district in 8th National Assembly Senator Shehu Sani said that the journalists mortgage the ethics of their profession.
He made the statement during an award presentation bestowed on him by the West Africa Political Writters Association in Kaduna on Sunday as “Epitome of Good Leadership” and “One of the Most Outstanding Senator in Nigeria that uplift his constituents in 2015 – 2019”.
The leader of the WAPOWA delegations Comrade Musa Mohammed in his speech said Senator Sani during his tenure as senator up-grade his constituency, presented motions that brings about stability in Nigeria’s democracy.

“During your presentation in many plenary session in the red Chamber brought changes and radicalized the Senate”.
Comrade Musa Mohammed who is the Ag. President of the West Africa Political Writers said Senator Sani has proven that he understands the meaning of democracy and the way it works.
“Senator Sani is in his element as a thorough bred politician and a true democrat”
“Even when he was a senator from 2015 – 2019, we all remembered how and what he has done in his constituency and the National Assembly (Red chambers)”.
“As a senator, Shehu Sani displayed high level skills in brinkmanship”.
“Personally, impressed with his style from his days as a senator, he looks quiet but very deep, and also is a fantastic listener, soft spoken and a humble man”.
Responding after receiving the award, Senator Shehu Sani expressed appreciation for the noble presentation by the West Africa Political Writers Association is laudable, and indeed an encouragement, to justify further the award.
The senator believed that the award bestowed on him is significant.
He observed that nigeria and West Africa is facing security challenges i.e kidnappings, cattle rustling, conflicts between farmers and herdsmen etc.
He called for people of conscious and conviction to take the issue of security serious.
He called on journalists to fully participate in the write-ups and also the media should depends the ethics of the profession.
The senator lamented that journalists mortgage the ethics of the profession and polarisation of journalists due to lack of cohesion.
