The Member Representing Kukawa Constituency in Borno State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Alhaji Haruna kukawa said that members of Borno State House of Assembly didn’t try to impeach Governor Babagana Zulum.

Honorable Kukawa made the statement through a phone interview with our correspondent.

“Governor Zulum is still the governor of Borno State, we already passed a vote of confidence on him”.
“It’s a mischievous online publication which falsely claimed rift between the State assembly and the governor”.

The member implied that the lawmakers were surprised when they saw an online media reporting the house had contemplated impeaching governor Zulum that is today considered a role model of leadership all over Nigeria.

“The house has passed a vote of confidence in the leadership style of Professor Babagana Umara Zulum. Ordinarily, the house would not have responded to that malicious report but we felt we should speak in order to avoid innocent members of the general pubic being misled to believing that totally false story especially considering the fragile security of our state and also the giant strides recorded by the Zulum’s administration in all sectors of the economy.

“ There was never any problem let alone so called attempt motive to remove our Governor who built and accelerated people’s confidence in governance. The house totally dismiss that news publication.
“It’s mischief and malicious”.

“We didn’t try to impeach him, he’s still the governor, he’s going to be the governor until the end of his term, and whether I like it or not, I have accepted the fact that he is our governor,” said Kukawa.

He described governor Zululand as Once among nation’s most popular governors.
“In one year, we have seen what he have achieved, people all over the country appreciate him.

‘We appreciate the fact that his first tenure in office is just like eight years in office”.
“He’s doing everything to achieve peace, and people are seeing it happening. He will succeed, by the grace of God, he will succeed.” Kukawa said.

“Governor Zulum has been actively implementing projects and programmes that will improve the lives of the good people of Borno State. He have, within a short time, achieved a lot in many areas, especially in the education and health sectors which have a direct bearing on the well-being of the people of Borno State”.

What our governor did in a short period of time and still doing is populist pandering to the yearnings of the masses in addition to lending support in vocal voice on the need for charge of status quo for the good of the nation”.

“Zulum received commendations from citizens of his state and those outside for his doggedness to ensure that Boko Haram terrorists are defeated and peace restored to his state”.

“Before the coming of his administration, major towns and local government council headquarters in the state were at one time or another, taken over by the insurgents, thus IDPs littered Maiduguri, the state capital, but now in my constituency Baga Halts Return to Normalcy, also most of the towns, some IDPs from Bama, Gwoza, Mafa, Dikwa, Konduga, Askira/Uba, Ajiri in Mafa have been resettled”.
