The Kaduna people’s Forum, a pro-democracy group has requested the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate Professor Muhammad Tanko the vice chancellor of Kaduna State University, over alleged mismanagement of over N500million‎.

In its petition, the Kaduna-based pro-democracy group drew attention of the EFCC to some of the blatant misdeeds of Professor Tanko and called for thorough investigation.

Massive Recruitment Fraud.
Corrupt practices.
Divertion of over 500 Million naira.

“The VC involved in Corruption, ‘the abuse of entrusted power for private gain,’ corrupt
and fraudulent practices.

“corruption and fraud in Kaduna State University are therefore varied and complex, ranging from plagiarism and fraud to embezzlement of funds,
nepotism and favouritism in student admissions and staff appointments,
diversion of university research funds, and procurement fraud”.

The Vice Chancellor accused of giving jobs to over 100 people.

“Investigation of fraudulent recruitment by Kaduna State University, uncovered, among other things, how the VC  allegedly recruited over 100 without following due process”.

The Vice chancellor Professor Muhammad Tanko allegedly personalised the recruitment carried out.

In a petition written by the group “Kaduna people’s Forum” made available to newsmen indicated that EFCC will soon commenced an investigation into alleged fraud in the kaduna State University.

The petitioners expressed concerns over the alleged nepotism and inducement that characterised the recruitment of job seeker during the period.

“We want EFCC and ICPC, to ascertain Professor Muhammad Tanko for allegedly diverting funds worth over Five Hundred million naira meant for the kaduna state university”

The Vice Chancellor is been alleged in possession of some choice properties in Kaduna the state capital and other places.

Reliable source revealed to SUB-SAHARA NEWS that the vice chancellor has since been invited by the EFCC for thorough investigation.
